Last night on Keith Olbermann's countdown there was a story about how Homeland F'ing Security was training Firefighters and EMTs to be on the "look out" for people suspected of "hating" and mere get this..."DISCONTENT" with the United States. That means fire inspectors are looking for more than fire hazards..but the books on your shelves or posters on your walls. OUT FUCKING RAGOUS ! Are there still some of you , deluded about the fact we are soaking in fascism ? Do you think we can vote this away ? Deconstruct the massive infrastructure of data mining, we are all suspects under the patriot act ? I don't.
See this article on truthout about the heinous HR 1955, The Violent Radicalization Homegrown Terrorism Act of 07 by Matt Renner - its on a fast track. Our founders wanted to ensure we had the ability to challenge those in government who would be tyrants. If they find the Firefighter training by HLS is a "success" ??!! they will take it nation wide. Personally i find this beyond disturbing. I am discontented with the USA. yep truly deeply discontented ! And as Ben Franklin said, Those who would give up liberty,for security deserve neither. And thats exactly where we are at right now.

Just got The Shock Doctrin By Naomi Klein and she mentions in the first chapter how a surrvaillance society arises, Well , it all goes back to Milton Friedman and the fundamentalist capitalists - they had been waiting for at least 30 yrs of a "shock" like 911 to hit - As we all have said time and again the Patriot Act wasn't just lying around. - One thing that could help us IS UNDERSTANDING the roots of their actions. Its the only way we can know how to fight it, She was on KO last night. And made that point - the people can see Iraq or any disaster for what it is - how the Vultures exploit it - Being just mad at bush say is a waste - its much bigger than him..etc. Milton Friedman and his loyal followers are monstreous. Unfettered free marketeers by any means necessary.
This latest from HS is about the most frightening thing that has happened under Bush. Put it together with all the rest that we know and what we suspect and...get your plans together, is all I can say.
I did read a comment somewhere from a fireman who said the collective response from his entire company to this directive was FUCK YOU!

omg people run do not walk, i am only page 70 of Naomi Klein's book Shock Doctrine. It is all the history , the names, the processes..all the dots Personally i couldn't connect. NOW I CAN and so can all of us. Between Her and Chalmers Johnson We will all more fully understand the origins..and it goes way back , and the M.O. of the Corptocracy and what we are up against. I cannot RECCOMEND this book enough. I just can't. BH gave me the book , best GIFT ever..ty BH! Its all the stuff we sure as hell are NOT meant to know.
BUT knowing it - we will understand how to combat the pure EVIL of Milton Friedman's legacy and followers. All the Neo's. Its essential reading. soooo if i am quit lately on the blogs , it is because i am reading this BOOK after my brief morning blog rounds. I ask for your understanding. And have to say it IS nice to read something besides a computer screen for a change.

It can't be said enough ... the "war on terrorism" is war on you & I & every person who is not in the ruling cabal. Every piece of legislation, every new tactic used to fight the war on terrorism can & will be be used to abridge our civil rights & freedoms.
ps, they don't really need the firefighters since they already have a private mercenary army (Blackwater). The firefighters I know are too busy dealing with emergencies to be flipping through your bookshelves & looking at posters on your walls. I guess warrants are the issue; firemen don't need 'em if they are called for an emergency.

omg DK that book i have it too, read it as well, and i to admit Phillips is a terrible writer..i mean his sentences are unweildy..Klein is a breezy jaw draw dropper, Same with Chalmers Johnson. Good luck DK American Theocracy because of Phillips' writing is akin i would imagine to being on a ship in the old days - that never ever docked..ending it for me , was a major accomplishment. I was like dude , we know you are smart - but do you think people can plow through these sentences..jeebuss have some mercy.

We are going to be formiable in changing the collective unconscious - even last night on Moyers..two reps of the jewish people and one from evangelical BOTH from CENTRIST positions !!! saying YES of course there must be a two state solution..and telling Moyers that the extremists.ie Zionists and Extremists in the Muslim faiths will not win..that even AIPAC does not represent the 70% of "jews" that want to a two state solution. Both peoples want peace ..The Palastinians and the Israelis they really do -Unfortunately the media and Washington are TOO influenced (for monetary and imperialistic gain no doubt) by the christian and muslin and Israeli extremists...

Geez - I've never heard of Rex-84, but it looks horrible & is still in force (duh). It really looks as if all the articles or media comments about it are at least 5 years old!
I'm glad that Naomi K. is out there on TV & Radio, and also writing good articles in places like Harpers and now & then the NY Times. A few people wrote to the "Best Books of the Year" blog (NYT) and asked why her book isn't on the list!
I'm lucky to live in such a liberal area, but the insults, abuse & prejudice everywhere really gets to me...

I was stunned that Olbermann had Naomi Klein on the show. I am also a little confused as to why it has taken so very long to even begin to get this book published and this story out. I read the initial article in Harper's. It was as plain as the nose on your face. Unbelievable. Then, in the midst of setting up all the big trade shows the insurgency broke out. Corporations decided it was not worth their risk and began to question the legality of privatizing the soap factories, etc. and backed out, leaving Bremer and the other looters holding the bag, literally. Why is this so hard for the American public to believe? You do not have to be a tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorist to believe the depravity of the corporations or the war intent.
Homeland Security is the biggest boondoggle ever created and Bushco has stacked the department with Bush family pals and fools (one in the same) who collect big paychecks and deliver small results.
Just like Bush himself.

Homeland Security is a money pit and a rediculous IF NOT criminal infringement on our civil rights - in ways we know and some ways in which we do not..what ever happened to land of the brave for pete sake..oh wait, but for flag waving fools there is not too much money in plain old courage.
